Need Good Eats by Baltimore Airport

HungryforGood Dec 5, 2013 03:19 PM

Gonna be picking up someone at the Baltimore airport. Would like to eat at good restaurant nearby... Near or heading south back to Delaware. Casual to upscale.

Kellers Bakery in Linthicum has the best (fruit filled) donuts on the east coast, (immediately north of BWI), otherwise keep going to Delaware...just a thought....

listen to 3MTA3 - I wanted to take a friend to lunch after baggage check in exchange for a BWI lift, she predictably (and wisely) declined. I later researched it. not much nearby.

Maryland has all sorts of great places, just not right near BWI.

Grace Garden is pretty close, on Rt 175. No decor to speak of, but the food is outstanding. Make sure to ask for the authentic menu, not the Americanized version. Search this board for details.

Gunnings is also nearby. Not outstanding, but decent for crabcakes.

Plenty of options in Baltimore as you head north from BWI to Delaware...

Second Grace Garden. Also Woo Chon in Odenton for Korean and Expressway Pit Beef. But if you're headed back to Delaware by way of Baltimore, you'd be better off going to Chaps, which is right off Pulaski Highway. There's also lots to pick from in Greektown.

Third Grace Garden, and really it's fairly close.

I'd also add Snyder's Willow Grove - American fare with a time travel aspect to the decor.

There's good Korean in Glen Burnie, not very far.

Catonsville Gourmet is good in the old Muirs Hardware building. Nice seafood.

the Wine Market on Fort Avenue in Baltimore is right off 95, so on your way. Terrific food, wine, cocktails. A little nicer surroundings than the spots listed below, and better than all of them except for Grace Gardens, which is a whole different kettle of fish (noodles).
