Gramercy/Murray Hill Dinner Recs

Jamieson13 Dec 4, 2013 06:23 PM

I live in CT and have an ex-NYCer friend visiting and staying at Gansevoort Park. She wants to do dinner near her hotel. As a chef myself and someone who doesn't venture into NYC often...can anyone recommend a not-to-miss dinner spot? I know all the majors- Nomad, ABC Kitchen,Gramercy Tavern, etc...but they are booked out already. Help! Thanks in advance!

EMP serves a la carte at the bar as well. It is first come, first served. They have a counter/bar as well as banquette seating in the bar area.

Maialino is close enough. Call or try for walk-in seats at the bar, if you don;t care.

the front room at Gramercy Tavern is first-come/first-serve...if it works for your evening, maybe you could put your name down if there is a wait and get a drink nearby...also, the concierge at her hotel might be able to help w/ reservations for the others...
