Happy Hour / PreGame close to University of San Diego

CorinneDavid Dec 4, 2013 12:40 PM

Would appreciate your recommendations!
Looking for a happy hour spot close to USD for Friday night game at the Jenny Craig center.
Prefer close to the gym, with adequate parking and room for 20+ parents. View would be a plus. Good food and drinks at a minimum. Not too casual or too fussy.
Any suggestions? Thanks! Corinne

You might want to also consider Bay Park Fish Co. or Offshore Tavern & Grill. Both have HRs, 3-6. And then there's Mr. Peabody's, which is just down the hill at the corner of Via las Cumbres and Friars -- no HR, but tasty food.

        Oops--I was thinking of"High Dive."
We often go here for happy hour to watch games. The food is standard bar fare but we like the drinks and the atmosphere. Enjoy.

Good suggestion. Nice bar, although I've been disappointed with the food there.

Yeah, I find the food disappointing as well. I mean, if you're ok with greasy burgers and nachos then the food will deliver.
But considering the area, and I'm a local, this isn't a bad option!

Offshore definitely has the largest space...I would suggest calling to see if you can reserve part of the patio (which is enclosed).

A new place a few miles up Morena called Isa.bella opened in BayHo, they might be able to accomodate 20 people also (not sure about the food yet)

The Morena District isn't exacting known for its fine dining. However, for a large crowd I'd suggest Tio Leo's or head into Old Town with Casa Guadalajara
