I finally tried Publix subs.

I tried a ready made turkey sub. I can't recall the specific type but it was good. What should I try next?

  1. chicken tender sub..... happy carlee.

    1. My favorite is the American. Its not premade, not even presliced. You get roast beef, real ham, and bologna; just enough good bologna to remind us of the sandwiches of our youth, and a little fat with the lean is always a good thing.

Since the whole sub is just a little more than a half, I ask around the office as to who would enjoy the other half on my nickel.

      1. Their Cubans are AWESOME!! Be sure you ask for it to be heated and pressed. If you're interested, I usually order mine with honey mustard instead of regular, and without pickles.

A second for their Cubans, but I just take the pre-made. Fairly frequently they are on sale for a week for a buck less.

Does your Publix use Cuban bread?

I considered ordering on when I was Palm Harbor but they would only use an Italian loaf even though there was Cuban bread available in the deli...just seemed odd to me. I waited a few days and took care of the craving when I was in Tampa.

They don't and I'm not a big fan of Cuban bread. When it's pressed it's like warm cardboard.

Ah...I grew up with Cuban bread so it's in my DNA!

Oh how I love good Cuban bread. A Cuban sandwich on anything but is simply a ham and cheese, IMHO.

I'm not sure, but I think I'm the only person in Florida who doesn't like Publix Cubans (I get a pass, though, because I like the rest of their subs, and their new soup bars are great for lunch along with their super-fresh salads)

If I'm going to have a Cuban, I truck my way over to any of several little Cuban-run sandwich joints and get a REAL Cuban.

One of the only things I'll eat ballpark yellow mustard on.

          2. Third for the Cuban! Good hot in the oven or cold, great when on sale for $3.59.
They are featuring a turkey with smoked gouda and cranberry dressing right now that is wonderful. Just don't let them put lettuce and tomato on it!
