Reasonably priced, good, fun Mexican restaurant in Vegas

Any suggestions?

  1. A bit more information would be helpful in making any recommendations. Can you qualify "fun" (energetic, great bar, eclectic menu, mariachi band?) and quantify "reasonably priced" ($25-$35/pp before drinks; $25-$35/pp total?)

Are you visiting or local? If visiting will you have a car and consider off-strip locations?

Good point! We're a group of 9 women celebrating a 40th birthday. Heading either to Nobu or Sage one night and want something more casual/fun for another night. $30 pp before drinks sounds about right. No car. Prefer to stay on strip. No mariachi band. :) Good food, fun yet nice (not Margaritaville kind of place), good service. Sophisticated fun, I guess. We're headed to a comedy show after.

I grew up in LA and now reside in Las Vegas. I've never been to a Mexican restaurant with a Mariachi band.

Back in the 70's there was a place on Sepulveda called El Gato that served great Mexican food (loved their lomo adobado) along with live mariachi entertainment.
I also live in Vegas now and would like to find a good Mexican restaurant.

Try Juan's Flaming Fajitas and Cantina. It's on West Tropicana west of Fort Apache in the same parking lot as In n Out.

It's a definite try. The menu looks great.. Thanks. I'm new here so I'll ask my son if he's eaten there.

Eric, you have been fortunate. When I lived in Mexico, I was usually willing to pay the mariachis to go away.

      2. Check out board favorite Border Grill at Mandalay Bay or Javier's at Aria.

Neither had a mariachi band, lol.

        1. We had a great dinner for 20 at El Segundo Sol in the Fashion Show Mall.

(we also did Nobu at the Hard Rock - prices were a bit less than the one at Caesars)

          1. I think I'm pointing my group in the wrong directions or didn't explain properly. Scratch Mexican. We will do Border Grill for brunch. What's another great restaurant, a well rounded menu with great drinks, $30pp approx before drinks. We want to stay on strip. I have China Poblano on the list, for example. Thank you!!

            1. diablo? or the place in palazzo...I really like it but am blanking on name!!
