TD Garden/North End Recommendations

missylrn Dec 3, 2013 01:14 PM

Going to the Celtics game on Friday night....looking for recommendations for early dinner close by. Was thinking of the North End? The only place we've been there is Giacomo's, which we liked, but my parents will be with us and they're not interested in standing in que for a table.
Looking to spend $20-30ish per person excluding alcohol.

I'd start with a search of the boards (top right corner). The North End is probably the most discussed topic on here. I know there are a bunch of threads about eating before The Garden too.

Love Massimino's. also is in the corner of the NE that is very close to the the Garden, short stroll. I am always pleased with their veal dishes.

Ducali is easy and nearby for pizza. Ward 8 is new but has a good pedigree. That's my current hope for somewhere decent to go pre-Garden.

Waterfront (if you are ok with more of a bar setting, but the food is quite good) and Ducali were my first couple of thoughts. I am also curious about Ward 8.

Massamino's on Endicott st almost around the corner from the garden, real short walk.

As recommended by another poster, Waterfront Cafe is a good option. I've also been pretty happy with Beneventos on Salem and they take resevations

there are lots of options-- bruins season ticket holders for 20+
giacomos is excellent if you are their 1st or even 2nd turn( let them know.. pomodoro is open all day, and for something lighter, Bread& Butter is open all day( no alcohol) but the food is fabulous......i think parking is more difficult than finding a great place to eat.. show up early for a parking spot & enjoy your night
( modern pastry is delicious )
