Recipe for Ginger Bread Bundt

I have this sudden craving for ginger spiced (gingerbread) loaf of some sort (but baking it in a bundt pan to “up” the presentation. I have been searching online but have not found a recipe where there are a number of good reviews. I found this recipe on Chow which I think I might like to make

Thinking about doubling the recipe and throwing it into a bundt pan (will that even work?) and bringing it to a party.

Any other ginger bread bundt (or loaf) recipes? I prefer making something in a bundt pan just because it looks so pretty.

Also, what would make a good glaze? Or should I just go with a sprinkle of powered sugar?

  1. The Guinness Stout Ginger Cake from Claudia Fleming is amazing. It keeps well, the flavor is nuanced giving a sophistication to the cake which bumps it to the sublime.

    I often use a chocolate stout instead of Guinness with good result.

    1. I heartily second the recommendation for Claudia Fleming's Guinness Stout Ginger Cake. It's my go-to gingerbread recipe. It's easy to make (no need for electric mixer, just a whisk or mixing spoon) and stays moist for at least a week kept at room temp. In fact, age improves it, so it's best made at least a day before you intend to serve it. It doesn't need a glaze, but if you want to go that route, I like how a lemon glaze complements a spice cake like this.

      1. I like the Guinness Gingerbread others have recommended, but I also like this one from Chang's Flour cookbook. It has a coffee glaze that I like. I like the contrast of a glaze or icing and I always serve whipped cream with Gingerbread.

        I found the Chang recipe on the web where it is done in a bundt.
