Looking for all butter puff pastry

DowntownJosie Nov 30, 2013 09:05 AM

Does anyone know of a bakery that sells all butter puff pastry. I have bought some from the chains but no one really knows if it is all butter. Do any of the smaller bakeries sell frozen puff pastry? Thank you!

Try Maitre Boucher on Monkland. I bought some frozen recently. No idea if it is what you want but they will answer your question.

Not a bakery, but cool and simple has a good all butter puff pastry that I like.

Au Pain Doré sells frozen puff pastry and I'm pretty sure it's all butter.

I believe it is, SnackHappy. I did ask them, but it was some time ago.

Thank you. I have asked as well and they have never given me a definitive answer." I think it's all butter" has often been the answer, at premiere moisson as well. The croissants at pain dore are horrible and that is when I started questioning whether or not they use all butter. I hate they don't have an ingredient list on the frozen products.

Yes, I don't like their croissants either, but I have no idea whether that is because of the ingredients.

SnackHappy is reminding me that Premiere Moisson also has puff pastry in the freezer section that they say uses 100% butter. If you like their croissants, that might be a good option for you.
