new yorkers annual trip to carlsbad

we are coming out to our favorite place and looking for dining suggestions
we will have a car and cost is not an issue either is distance, we are of course looking for great local food in a non tourist enviorement in addition we always want to try a real upscale dining experience, weve been to 9-10, georges, market we like seafood and calif cuisine, also looking for new places for bfast, and if a place has live music even better, thanks

  1. Have you done the TBL3 experience at George's? If not, I'd suggest that. Addison is probably the other most upscale dining experience in San Diego.

The bluegrass brunch on Sundays at Urban Solace is great for live music and breakfast. Anyone know if the Encinitas location or Sea & Smoke do something similar too? Either of those would be a lot closer than North Park.

    1. You might want to give Veladora at the Rancho Valencia resort in Rancho Santa Fe a shot....very good food and upscale dining experience though not pretentious....if you go on a Thursday-Saturday night, they have a 2-3 piece acoustic band playing at the very swanky Pony Room next door.

In addition to the places mentioned below in La Jolla, you might want to give Amaya and/or Eddie V's a shot....Amaya is a little over the top in my opinion but they do have a back room with jazz whereas Eddie V's has one of the most impressive views from their deck overlooking the ocean in all of San Diego as well as live jazz on the inside.

hi for our steak dinner we had eddie vs trulucks and donovans as options so we will do eddies ty

      2. For the North County area we like: Blue Ribbon Pizza in Encinitas; Tony's Jacal in Solana Beach; AR Valentien in Torrey PInes; Mille Fleurs in Rancho Santa Fe; and Market in Del Mar.
