  • 5

My husband and I will be spending day looking at holiday windows and would like suggestions for lunch in midtown. Thanks in advance for your help.

  1. What day? Not all restaurants do lunch if this is needed for a weekend. Price range? Food likes/dislikes?

    1. Bergdorf Goodman. You can start at BG, window shop walking down south on 5th, stop around 35th, circle back up north on 5th on the east side of the street, and then end your shopping tour with lunch at BG.

Or Betony (weekdays only). Same route, but you have to do a dog leg turn 57th, or Modern with a dog let turn on 53rd.

      1. Ma peche is just off of 5th ave at 56th st

The modern restaurant at MOMA is on w53rd, a bit more fancy than ma peche.

        1. If you're looking for a more low key option, when I did a 5th Avenue window shopping walk while visiting last December we stopped at the Plaza Hotel food court for lunch. Lots of interesting options (don't be put off by the name food court), plus you can look at the hotel's holiday Christmas decorations. Another casual option is the burger place at the Parker Meridien hotel. Not sure about this year, but last Christmas the hotel had a really cool display of elaborate gingerbread creations.

          1. It would be helpful if you gave us the type of cuisine you are looking for, a price point, and your dress. For example, we wouldn't want to send you to places like the Plaza, St. Regis or the 21 Club if your wearing jeans and sneakers. Are you looking for fine dining or soup & sandwich?
