Baking Frozen Apple Pies
I've heard to bake frozen apple pies at 425 for 15-20 minutes and then lower the temperature to 350-375 for the original baking time plus another 15 minutes. Anyone know what works better? I am currently trying the bake at 425 and then 350 method...but my pie has been in the oven WAY longer than specified and it has yet to fully cook... Any tips?
Only to tent with foil if the top starts getting dark before the filling is done.
Not sure what else to try, except to bake at a lower temp for longer, though you may need that high temp to make sure the bottom crust gets cooked through.
Maybe you should reverse the cooking temps, starting it lower at 350, then sticking it on the bottom rack at 425 for the last 15 mins.
