Preservation--Sunny Isle

Had a thoroughly enjoyable meal there tonight.
Charcuterie platter was nice and include 3 unique house-made preserves (my favorite was the apple pie butter) as well as 3 cheeses and 3 meats.

The smoked corn arancini were delicious although the cheesy puree underneath was a little gummy.
The short rib tacos were a treat, especially if you love short ribs.

We had 2 desserts--I preferred the espresso pot de cream.

This place was empty. Go check it out. They're trying to "do the right thing" in an area that may not support them.

I wish them the best of luck. "A" for effort, for sure.

  1. Went today for 'lunchfast.' My friend had the pastrami sandwich, I had the eggs benedict with short ribs.

    The pastrami was delish, but the presentation suffered from the flat-topped bread being literally soaked in butter. The eggs benedict were great, with the eggs perfectly poached, and the hollandaise just right, and the short ribs a perfect compliment to the rest of the plate. The eggs benedict were served with fried potatoes -- think tots, but whole potato chunks -- served with a terrific barbecue flavored catsup.

    But we were the only people in the place, which always makes service a little awkward.

    The food is delicious, and the 'preserved' items for sale are equally delicious. If only there were more customers . . .
