I went to a Rudy's for the first time, yesterday. Menu board showed brisket and lean brisket. I just ordered brisket, and what I got was way too lean and way too dry. Also had creamed corn which was too sweet for my tastes. Not inclined to go back there anytime soon.
Rudy's has an extra-moist brisket that's usually off-menu....the hot jalapeno sausage is pretty good and the St. Louis-style ribs are pretty fantastic (at least they are at the other Rudy's I've tried...they're a chain so I assume they have an SOP for making their BBQ.) The one in Frisco is pretty good...my favorite Rudy's is still the one on Hwy. 360 in Austin.
