  1. The jasmine tea smoked ribs at Hakkasan are really really good and it's a meaty portion.

Amazing 66 used to have a very good rendition. Haven't tried it there since the chef change

    2. It's really worth trekking to the UES for Nancy Lee's ribs at Pig Heaven-truly the best you will find in the city.

To my huge dismay, the ribs are no longer on the Nancy Lee menu. Has someone there lost it, it was their main attraction IMHO?

Are you saying you went there and no ribs or just didn't see on a website menu? I cannot believe it has been taken off. I will call and report back as they are truly the best!

it's still on menu which i googled but will call later to verify.

Yes, the item appears on the written menu--but with no price, which usually means the item has been dropped. I don't want to leave misinformation on this, what is the result of your phone inquiry?

I just called -YES THEY ALWAYS HAD AND still do!

Thanks, that's great news. They need to fix their website.

Definitely have them - just ordered them from seamless on Wednesday. I think the lack of price listed is because they have two prices, for small and large sizes.

        2. Ok, we are going to have to get over to Pig Heaven, we love good old fashioned Chinese bbq ribs. Other than the ribs is there a "must order" dish? How is their peking duck?

On the rib front we actually recently had them from Ou Place, in midtown east, and they were very good. They also make a very good "old fashioned" more or less, egg roll, which seems increasing difficult to find.

              I'm guessing that's a typo.

"Our Place" is on 79th between 2nd and 3rd. They're the closest thing to real dim sum on the UES, but they're nowhere near the level of NYC's various Chinatowns.

Also, regarding the ribs at Pig Heaven - they were good, but I don't know if I'd make a special trip for them.

              1. re: pbjluver

Yes, typing too fast. It is "Our Place." There is also one in the east 50s, right off of Lexington. It is a "nicer" venue for sit down Chinese. As noted, they are not akin to Chinatown chinese.

I always order the 3 glass chicken at Pig Heavaen-I request dark meat on the bone with this dish.Extremely delicious with mushrooms. Comes in this very heavy hot pot-don't burn your fingers!

                1. re: UES Mayor

Thank you UES. We have a meal set, starting with the ribs and on towards the three glass chicken.
