Ms Donuts (Echo Park) makes a great chocolate buttermilk bar

It looks like a dog who got a hold of a bad can of Alpo took a massive dump on a regular buttermilk bar, but it's mighty tasty.

Despite driving by this location 5 days a week for years, I have never been inside. Yes, it's 5:30 in the morning and there are usually about a half dozen men who are struggling to remain sitting upright [some unsuccessfully] at the few tables.

I have never seen a woman in this place.

This morning, I made a point of going in. I bought a glazed buttermilk donut. It was almost half the size of a Primo's Buttermilk Bar. It was .85 cents.

    Primo's has nothing to fear.

Were you at least kind enough to prop up ipse's forehead on the table while on your way out? .-)>

Great fritters and bear claws at Ms. Donut. Will have to try the chocolate buttermilk bar next time.

Last time I went there was right around the time they were taking the buttermilk out of the oven. Everyone got one except me, the dummy who opted for the sugar twist. The man working even told me that the sugar twists weren't fresh, but nope, that was what I wanted. Thank God I have an awesome boyfriend who shared half of his AMAZING buttermilk bar with me, while my sad choice sat on the dashboard.

Ipsedixit, do you visit there often enough to know what their goto items are, aside from the aforementioned dog-poo glazed buttermilk bar?

            First visit.

All I know is that they are awfully nice, but work as hard as they might, they bake ONCE a day -- at 12:30 a.m.

So, whatever it is you may want, best to get there early. Or not at all until the next day.

How's the plain buttermilk bar? (glazed)

I am a sucker for those!
