Downhill Alert: The Left Handed Cook rice bowls

They completely left off the delicious brown sauce (teriyaki maybe...?). Maybe they were out of it (in which case they shouldn't selling rice bowls). The short rib meat was burnt and flavorless. I hope this is just a one day anomaly...

  1. I'm guessing they are more than a little busy trying to handle opening week crowds at The Rabbit Hole. Not a good excuse, but probably little quality control there. Hope they can keep both open!

    1. I'd say new restaurant/new baby related lack of oversight. They'll fix it.

      1. I always thought they were overrated in the first place, to be honest.

        1. Did you send it back?

Was to both establishments a week ago, no issues. Rice bowl was terrific.

I was also at both places in the last two weeks. No complaints on either front.

          2. Looks like two restaurants was optimistic. The Left Handed Cook to close: http://minneapolis.eater.com/archives...

Actually, it has already closed. And it sounds as though consolidating the two places may have been their plan all along.

Ah, well the first version of the CP post said by the end of the year. Was updated according to the correction. Not surprised either way.

That's kind of too bad. It was nice to have a more casual, drop-in location. But, they were a little on the slow side, so maybe just as well that they do that kind of service in an actually restaurant setting. I guess the existence of the first enable them to get the second off the ground, so that's okay, I suppose.

I hope Sonora Grill doesn't close.
