Italian Cookie Recipe Sources

  • 4

I really miss the cookies I would get at Italian bakeries in Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx. I can make biscotti, reginas, and amaretti but I don't have recipes, much less even know the names, of most of the other cookies.

Can anyone suggest a book or website that will have trusted recipes for these types of cookies? I NEED a cookie fix!

    1. The Italian Baker by Carol Field, altho a comprehensive book, has 32 pages of devoted to baking cookies. There is a 1985 edition as well as an updated 2011 edition.

I love these cookies! I was looking for that book and my library doesn't have it. I may have to go the Amazon route. And thanks, ChiliDude, for reminding me about Carol Field. I should have thought of that. I think I need to start baking these now.
