Broguiere's egg nog?

Masterderp2000 Nov 21, 2013 07:59 PM

I just started drinking Broguiere's milk and chocolate milk a few months back, and it's by far the best milk I've ever had. I was looking forward to trying their egg nog, but my local sprouts where I buy the milk from isn't carrying it and I don't know where else to look. Has anyone seen it at any grocery stores around San Diego? It comes in a glass bottle.

Might be too early, and I haven't seen it, but if Sprouts isn't planning to stock it, maybe Ralphs downtown?

Do you have Gelson's in SD? They carry it in LA.

Gotta warn you, tho, it's sickly sweet and cloying.

No, we do not have Gelson's. Much to our dismay, because my sister-in-law (who lives in Irvine) always has something we like that was purchased there. Of course.

Sprouts is the only place that I know of that carries Broguiere's.

You could also try Strauss Family Creamery's egg nog (and milk) too which is available at most Whole Foods locations. IMO it's even superior to Broguiere's.

Or you could make your own: http://www.chow.com/recipes/10758-bes...

I just purchased a bottle of the Strauss Family Creamery's egg nog at Whole Foods in Hillcrest and had a (little!) taste. Very good. Not too sweet or cloying at all. Expensive!

Sprouts on Genesee has a few bottles in stock, but you'll have to move quickly and ask at the dairy. They don't have them out on the shelf. After these few are gone, they'll have some more sometime before Christmas, but they don't know exactly when.

I've seen it at Sprouts in past years, so I was a little surprised to hear in your post that they weren't planning to stock it this year. It's a matter of being there at the right moment, I guess.

I've heard that Ralph's carries it sometimes, too, but that's hearsay.

If you strike out, I can second DougOLis' suggestion (Strauss) as an alternative.

I bought a bottle of Broguiere's egg nog this afternoon at Cardiff's Seaside Market. They have a good supply on hand. Lip-smacking delicious!

I saw it at whole foods del mar and the harvest ranch in olivenhain. The egg nog is just a little too much for me...rich and kind of an almost slippery feel. I can see how people may like it but it's not for me.

Yeah, I got some there a few days ago. This stuff is awesomely good. My wife yelled at me for not "saving" it for Christmas, but I'm not sure why - we rarely go through half of a quart of eggnog before throwing it out anyway (won't have that problem with the Broguire's, obviously).
