what kind of dishes did you want like from the alpine? pasta? crab crepes (my fave there)? do you want to stay in arlington?

The Alpine in Arlington? How long have you been away?

          What's it been...5-6 years?

it seems to be at least that. i just know it has been sitting and sitting when we were told that the cowboy cafe group folks were buying it and putting in a new restaurant in that space. but…nada.

ziv, thanks for that article link. the comments were just as interesting. ;(.

so…i can infer that the new owners do not also own cowboy cafe. maybe i misunderstood the waitress when she was talking about it. it is possible, considering the lagunitas draft! LOL.

whatever goes in there, the owners will have to address the serious parking problem.

If they ever do get a Liberty Tavern type pub/cafe there, that corner might just hit critical mass for a happening area. You got Thirsty Bernie's which isn't bad beer (I got to watch my mild mannered boss get thrown out by the manager there one time, which was odd!) and you have the new Cowboy Cafe which is pretty decent and if you had a Liberty Tavern there you would have a decent pub selection.
I am not a huge fan of the food at any of those places, but it isn't bad.
(Full disclosure, I have never eaten at Liberty, just Cowboy Cafe and Thirsty Bernies plus Liberty Tavern Group's Lyon Hall and Northside Social)

Couple years - Pino was still cooking and his daughter ran the place.
