Barrio Coreano: The new resto from Playa Cabana.

I thought this deserved it's own thread.I posted a partial menu for the new restaurant on the Playa Cabana thread yesterday, so here it is again. It's a cross between Korean and Mexican.

          1. They are obviously doing something right if you're making 10 mil a year. I thought the location on the Junction was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I had all year.

            The apps were ok but it was all downhill from there, dry, flavorless tacos that were way too much money. Give me Grand Electric any day.

            The whole vibe was also aggressively cheeseball, with loud reggaeton blaring at all times and this kind of faux-mexican sensibility that wasnt for me.

                Yeah my eyes nearly rolled out of my head when that number got bandied about in the media. Restaurant empire worth $10 mill? Might want to fact-check that.

                  don't their tacos cost like 5 dollars each? and he has like 5 fucking restaurants or something? and idiots love it? it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if they sell 10 mil a year it's not that crazy

                    At the time the article was written, he had 2 restaurants, and one had only been open 2 or 3 months.

                      That's 2 million tacos. Those Annex bluebloods are gonna have some trouble fitting into their polo pants.

              2. I just went tonight and I definitely thought Playa Cabana Hacienda was better. I found the guacamole over salted and let the staff know. They brought us a new batch which was just as salty.

                We tried 4 of the 5 tacos and thought they were mediocre. The yuzu tuna taco was just heavily battered tuna. I liked the spicy carnita taco the best. The chorizo spring rolls tasted like spring rolls from a fast food place. The chorizo made it very oily on top of the fried wrapper.

                Overall, I don't think the Korean ingredients enhanced the menu.
