Dinner Before the Fillmore [San Francisco]

The Dive Nov 20, 2013 03:51 PM

Any new ideas for dinner before a show at the Fillmore? State Bird Provisions is closed for the night (which I learned when I attempted to get the reservations 60 days prior), or that would be it.

DOSA is always a solid choice.

whatever you do, do not eat at the fillmore itself. the food is pretty terrible, and the kitchen mainly exists so that they can allow people under 21 in the venue.

I liked my meal at Out the Door enough that it makes me sad I never get to that neighborhood. Best daikon cakes ever.

I really like Fat Angel, primarily an upscale beer bar but with a way better than average short menu. I particularly like the trout salad, and both the charcuterie and cheese places are abundant, with lovely Firebrand bread.

Haven't been in a while but 1300 Fillmore does a very nice job of updating Southern favorites.

Troya on Filmore is near enough - and I like it better and better each time I go.
