Thierry Rautureau's New Place

It looks like the secret's not a secret any longer. Chef Thierry will be opening his new restaurant, Loulay, in the Sheraton downtown (the old Goldfarb Jeweler's space) this December 4th.

          Maybe in January, we should have a Chow meetup there and eat together?

            Sure! I couldn't afford the $45 Grand to have him cook at my house.


        2. I was at a gala fundraiser for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at the Sheraton last Saturday and Chef Thierry was there. One of the auction items was to have Thierry Rautureau come to your house and cook dinner for 16 people. The winning bid was $45,000. When the bidding frenzy ended and the auctioneer said "Sold" he added somewhat dryly "I hope everyone gets a hat with that". The chef raised a chunk of change for CF in about 2 minutes.

            That makes my win of a Canlis tasting menu and wine pairing for 6 (incl. tip and tax) at the Seattle Animal Shelter Foundation auction for $2400 seem like quite the bargain!
