Seafood in Bath/Brunswick late November

hicow Nov 20, 2013 09:24 AM

I have guests from England who would like to try our local seafood. During warmer months this would be easy to find any one of many lobster shacks or restaurants. Any suggestions for options in late November.

I'd say go just a bit further south to freeport and hit up Jameson Tavern right next door to LL Bean

Thanks Bobbert, good suggestion. During warmer months, I would have considered Five Islands or Dolphin Marina.

Freeport is actually quite pretty for the holiday season as well and you might have been going to Beans anyway. There's been a marked uptick in the yelp ratings since the former fisherman's grill owner took over Jameson tavern. Fried clams, lobster roll, maybe compare a fish and chips with England. This Friday (I think it's this Friday -tomorrow) they light the tree at Beans. Good time to avoid unless you eat during the lighting.

I tried getting Yelp to remove some of the very negative pre-ownership-change reviews but they sent back an idiotic response about how they were based on first-hand experience so they would be staying up. Well DUH! I never said they weren't based on first-hand experience, my point was they were totally misleading now. This applies to any other restaurant that undergoes a total makeover, of course. It's a real flaw with any site that uses a star/number system to rate restaurants.
