Discussions You Might Like

Does this list of 3 numbered topics bear any relation to the post topic/title? The "discussions you might like" actually used to be relevant to the topic, giving a list of topics that might have been reached by a search of the thread's key word(s). Now the "discussions you might like" seem randomly selected, making me thankful the list is limited to only three. Did the query to populate this section change recently, and why?

  1. Not answering your question, but what irks me about this feature is that it gives random, old discussions. I find myself almost ready to respond to something that's from 4 yrs ago.

    1. Confusing isn't it?! When two of the three threads have only 1 comment attached it's hardly what I would call a discussion.

      I ignore the list.

      1. The algorithm for this feature changed when our new search launched this past summer, and we agree that it still needs to be improved. Thanks for pointing this out,

Hooray! I haven't seen a new discussion in that list for a looooong time. But it's good training for my focus. There have been a couple of times that I'm suckered in, open the thread and even respond, only to discover about five seconds AFTER I hit "Send" that its a five year old thread and I'm repeating myself! When people find a new entry from me, then when they open it, it's just "...." and that's all, that's why! <sigh> I'll be soooooooo glad when it's fixed. And I am sooooooooooooooooooo gladder to know you guys are aware and working on it. THANKS!!! ;-)

        2. Jannie, I could not agree with you more. It used to be a useful feature. Now I just ignore it.
