Osteria Morini

Michael White is opening his first restaurant in DC. Having had several dinners at Marea and Ai Fiori, I expect this to be the best Italian restaurant in DC. I like Fiola, Elisir and Al Dente but they all have consistency issues.

Definitely looking forward to this place.

    2. Does anyone know the parking situation down there?

there is none and what few spaces you find will invite smash and grab theft. cabs won't go 'down there'. cops won't go 'down there' and it's chock full of icky people they haven't yet been able to get rid of in the re-do (sorry).

good lord get out of NW on occasion, it's right by the ballpark for cryin' out loud. the Nats seem to be able to accommodate a few more people than I'd imagine any restaurant could hope for. parking on a non-game night (season's over) should not be an issue.

You pay an arm and a leg to park during Nats games. I was just wondering if there's cheap available parking around the restaurant.

There's non rush-hour parking available on M Street, as well as garage parking at the hotel, and a private lot on 7th, and a small hourly lot under the freeway at 8th. Street parking on L and K is usually permit restricted, but there's usually metered parking available further up New Jersey. But, yeah, on game days, all bets are off.
