For Lease sign up on the building.

Anyone know if they're relocating or shutting down?

Side question: anyone know a better rotisserie chicken in the East Bay?

I believe they are going to be moving. The building was for sale. They had an online Fundable fundraising trying to raise several hundred thousand dollars to buy the building.

I had lunch there today. As the Berkeleyside article says, the landlord wants to sell the building, but they couldn't come to an agreement. So, they're going to ride out the sale and see how it works out with the new building owner. Moving is a possibility.

The new building owner would be a fool to let them leave. If I recall correctly, that was a cursed resto location until they moved in.

And to answer the side question: No, I don't. I come back again and again to the magic that is Zaki's chicken.

Recently had a very good lunch here. It's been awhile since I was here last but all items were spot on. We had the minted beverage, falafel side dish, half chicken plate and fattoush salad. Hope they stay in place after the building is sold. It was a lot of food for the two of us ..... I took some of it home. It used to be a very good deal ..... prices have crept up but considering the quality - still a solid choice. Our bill came to $32.08 for lunch

The building is sold, their last day is May 31 and they are looking for a new location. Also, now open for lunch only on the weekends...
