Lunch South Williamsburg near Hewes (J,M) or Broadway (G)

  • 4

Can anyone recommend a place for lunch this Wednesday in way South Williamsburg, near the J/M Hewes Street stop or the Broadway G stop?

We're not fussy about cuisines or decor, it just has to be a place with decent food where 2 friends can sit down and have a conversation, and be in an out in an hour, maybe an hour and a half.

Any leads? I know Williamsburg is crawling with awesome eats, but I am perpetually lost in this neighborhood.

Thanks!!

  1. within a five-block radius, I think your best options are Mexico 2000 and Williamsburg Pizza. Both have only a few tables and neither is ideal for spending much more than half an hour.

If you're willing to walk a little farther, you could look into Peter Luger, Motorino, DuMont, Le Barricou, Caracas, Pies 'n' Thighs...

    1. Is it a weekday lunch? If so, that location in particular is a bit challenging. Tacos Matamoros makes amazing chicken tinga chilequiles. If you're up for a bit of a walk, Diner and Marlow and Sons is the place to go. If it's a weekend, Traif, Moto and Shalom Japan (among many others) are possibilities.

Where is Tacos Matamoros? I'm familiar with the one in Sunset Park and there used to be one named that on Bedford a few years ago but it closed...
