Takeaway near Camden Town Tube [London]

kpzoo Nov 15, 2013 01:32 PM

Hi London hounds! I've been tasked with finding a good place to get some takeaway for a group of five, near Camden Town tube station on a Friday. Could be any type of food, but must have an option for a pescetarian. Bonus points for an online menu that we can peruse in advance, but certainly not essential as we can pick up a menu in person the day before.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Not sure if they do take away but think they do. I'd give Asakusa near Mornignton Crescent tube a go. Would suit the pescetarian.

Thanks! I neglected to say this will be for lunch - sorry about that. Asakusa looks good but it doesn't seem that they're open for lunch.

Poppies have a branch in Camden now. I've not been but the original one in Spitalfields does good fish and chips. Definitely does take away, open for lunch, pescetarian friendly and menu online.

Thanks so much - that looks great!

Any other backup options also appreciated. :-)

I've just found out we're actually near Camden Road tube station, not Camden Town, if that makes a difference. Still seems like they're fairly close.

Decent Cambodian restaurant (but then I don't know any other Cambodian restaurants in London...) Lemongrass: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Lemong...

It's not right by the station but Yum Cha is excellent takeaway and great value.

We ended up having lunch at Yum Cha Silks & Spice on Chalk Farm Road - we ate in the restaurant. The crispy duck & pancakes, spicy veg dumplings, and everything else we had was delicious, and the prices reasonable. Everyone loved it, and I came off looking like a London insider foodie genius. ;-)

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions, I really appreciate it!

Glad you enjoyed it, I really miss that place since leaving Primrose Hill. They used to deliver to our front door within about 15 mins of ordering online.
