Saturday Brunch/Lunch Pre-theater in Times Square?

Hello!!

I'm taking my mother and my 7 year old daughter to see Matilda (the theater is on 44th St.) and am looking for pre-theater brunch/lunch recommendations.

It will be for my daughter's birthday and my mother is disappointed that we aren't going to dinner after the show (which we can't do for a variety of reasons), so I would like lunch to feel special, but it's still lunch so it shouldn't be over the top. I would prefer to be within a few blocks of the theater for the sake of timing and in case the weather doesn't cooperate.

I would love to learn of your favorite special occasion weekend lunch spots in and around Times Square that would be appropriate for a well behaved - foodie - 7 year old.

Thank you in advance!

Depending on your price point you may want to give db Bistro Moderne a look. Your mom would probably forget about not doing dinner if you do this instead. Excellent food and the space has recently undergone a renovation.

Thank you! I haven't been to db Bistro Moderne but the menu online looks lovely.

You can get a 20% discount if you book on Savored. Right now they have dates through Dec 14, in case the celebration is in the next few weeks.

Second DB Bistro Moderne. Also look into the Lambs Club.

Please don't go to The Lamb's Club. Our one dinner there was an awful experience.

Lamb's Club is a good suggestion. We enjoyed our recent lunch there celebrating my mother's birthday. I preferred it to dbBistro - nicer room, better food and service.

          Try Marseille on 9th Ave. & W. 44 St.
