Brunch on the way to the zoo

I need a good brunch spot for this sunday that won't be overrun with race attendees. Green Pastures is one of my favorites but that's a little out of the price range this time. We are driving down to the zoo from Leander so really anything in between those two. I've been trying to search through older threads but there are too many choices and I'm not very familiar with the area down by the zoo.

I bumped up a 2007 thread on San Francisco bakery on Anderson - could be right on the way. real cute little kid friendly place with great quiche, breakfast sammies, soups, danishes, cookies, chili, etc. real solid, not hard on the wallet. it's active right now if you want to read it over.

slowcooked, we actually stopped in to this place the other day because of that thread. It was great food. I put it on the list of possibilities.

Nutty Brown does a great brunch and is very near the zoo.

This place looks fun, do you know what the price of brunch is? I didn't see it listed on the website.

I like Senor Buddy's. It's right on the corner of 290 and Circle Drive. It is literally 1/2 mile from the zoo, right on the way. It's owned by the Curras people.

I will add that they have a really nice beer garden if the weather cooperates

          Jack Allen's is perfect.

I agree with that, but we don't want to drive over to Round Rock if possible. Is the original location down by the zoo?

The orginial is in Oak Hill; not too far from the "Y" at 71 & 290. They only do brunch on Sunday but the buffet is great!
