hudson valley wedding - help!

mattieauntie Nov 11, 2013 05:31 PM

would be immensely grateful for suggestions. desperate and short on time! Looking to get married at a hudson valley restaurant in march 2014. I foresee a small event, 50 people or so, but many flying in from west coast, so would prefer to have whole thing at one place. would love a restaurant with scenic views, great (but not necessarily fancy) food, and kind accommodating staff who might be able to grant us a private room or area for a few hours. please, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

you guys are so awesome. thanks again for all your tips. red hat sounds like they wouldn't be able to do a sit-down meal, just buffet - although initially i;d liked that one too. I need to call the lady at harvest - i have that as a strong contender. I'll have to look into the hilton - if it's good food and nice people i might be able to forgo other things! thank you all again.

We had my daughters wedding, with only 30 people, at the Hilton Westchester (in Rye). There was no view, but the food was really good, and there were several options for different rooms for the ceremony and reception. They were a pleasure to deal with as well.

Red Hat in Irvington is very pretty and the food is mostly very good.

Look into Hudson House Inn in Cold Spring - scenic, cute town for your family to walk around....the food is good and the rooms are cozy and they would be able to accommodate you... www.hudsonhouseinn.com

If guests stay local, there are several restaurants in close proximity to do a rehearsal or brunch the next day if you choose to.

Shadows on the Hudson in Poughkeepsie does a nice job with weddings. The view is great.

                  le chateau in south salem

one stop shopping except for music and photographer

given the short notice, you might have better luck with a luncheon

Highly recommend half moon in Dobbs but not sure what they can offer a crowd that size and march is cutting it close. Kittle house in chappaqua does many events of different sizes.
