Do you know if there is a place in Montreal where I can buy Tanzanian beer : Husker or Kilimanjaro?

  1. Can't help, but...
I've had Tusker from Ontario's LCBO. It's from Kenya, however, not Tanzania.
Is this the beer you mean, Tusker?

Yes, it might not be made in Tanzania, but you can buy it there and it's one of the popular beer. I am trying to find some for an event :-)

I never saw either in Quebec (Tusker or Kilimanjaro).

Tusker is usually available in Ontario at LCBO, however, I've seen long periods when they did not have stock province wide.
If you plan on taking a drive to Alexandria
        (372 MAIN STREET SOUTH
        MAIN & LOCHIEL (HWY. 34)
        ALEXANDRIA, K0C 1A0
        TELEPHONE: 613-525-3010)

        or Lancaster
        (16 MOLAN STREET
        MOLAN STREET & HWY 34
        LANCASTER, K0C 1N0
        TELEPHONE: 613-347-2056)

        (both somewhat close)

It might be a good idea to call ahead to see if its in stock or to order (bigger towns like Cornwall usually have it, but you're taking your chances in the small bergs).

BTW, Tusker used to have a super cool label on a green bottle. I think the label had a sketch of the plains of Africa with elephants and animals.
Nowadays, the bottle is brown and the label is a goofy drawing of an elephant

I used to buy Tusker years ago at the SAQ. Guess they've stopped carrying it. Might be worth a phone call or e-mail to the SAQ in case they still have it at some outlets.

Yeah, I think you're right, Haggisboy. I stand corrected (perhaps I did see it in Quebec...).

            1. re: Haggisboy

I did not see it on the SAQ website, but I should enquire in case they have it in specialty store.

If you check the LCBO website, there is plenty of it available - but it seems the closest location to here where it's in stock is Ottawa. If you need it soon, that's probably your best bet, as orders or store transfers can take weeks.
