Ballast Point Tasting Room and Kitchen--Little Italy

Continuing on my alcoholic ways this weekend, I had a chance to stop in visit the Ballast Point Tasting Room and Kitchen in the northern section of Little Italy today (couple blocks south of El Camino on India and Ivy), following yesterday's visit to the new Stone Brewing Company store on Kettner.

Love this place...nice feel to it with plenty of choices of beer as well as the option of choosing various sizes (i.e. full pints, half a pint, tasting portions, etc.)....I love Sculpin but find it super strong and was glad it was offered in an 8 oz serving. The food is fairly good as well and includes appetizers (beer pretzel and mussells), sandwiches (burger, chicken, etc.), fish tacos, charcuterie, and some unique items such as braised short rib lettuce cups and sausage roll with apple sauerkraut. It also seems to attract a nice, non-Gaslamp crowd....would be nice if they had an outdoor patio area, but nothing is perfect. Could be working into my repertoire on a weekly or semi-monthly basis.
