I just noticed Cumparis' sign tonight. It's still an Italian restaurant. Has anyone tried the sandwiches yet?

I was wondering if anyone knows any more about the place. It's located in the same space as where Bel Cibo and Trezzanno Bakery had been in operation.

  1. Since Trezzano closed, I've only been once to Bel Cibo. Nothing like the original. Maybe there's a chance with the new place...

I only went to Bel Cibo once, too. The Cumparis sign looks somewhat makeshift/like it was made on a shoestring budget, but hopefully that means they are focusing on the food. Couldn't find any reviews/reports online (yet).

        fingers crossed

    2. Used to love the Trezzanno meatball sandwiches. Never bothered with Bel Cibo. I'll probably wait for someone else to try Cumparis first.

I dropped in today, since I was heading to Costco and Grande Cheese. I had already eaten, so grabbed something small. The hot table looked a lot like Trezzano, but not exactly. Veal, chicken sandwiches, lasagne, other pastas etc. They also had a couple of kinds of empanadas--cheese, chicken and beef. I think the Italian theme also feature some South American cooking. My beef empanada was good. I think I'd go back to try a sandwich, but I wouldn't have the expectation of it tasting like Trezzano used to.

Thanks for taking one for the team, Yongeman. I'll stop by next time I'm nearby, and try some stuff out. Do you think it might be Argentinean-run? Could explain the Italian and South American dishes at the same hot table?

Quite possibly, prima. There was a conversation in Spanish in progress between a customer and possibly one of the owners when I was there.
Oh, there was also a sign up stating that they had Porchetta. Trezzano used to feature porchetta on Fridays, I think. Sorry about the sketchy details.
