New musts in Brooklyn?

Hi guys,

I lived in NYC for 14 years, but decamped in July for a new job in Atlanta. I miss BK like crazy (of course) and can't wait to visit for 9 days in December.

Obviously, I have my standbys, but are there any new can't-miss spots since the summer? I realize that this is not uber-specific, but it's because I'm quite omnivorous and assume there aren't so many crucial new places that it's too tough to narrow down. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I'll be staying in the North Slope, but will travel as much as I need to. Will most definitely be spending some quality time in Gowanus and Williamsburg/Greenpoint, but I'm open beyond those as well.

Thanks in advance, 'hounds. Counting the days . . .

        1. If you like sushi try Katsuei, 7th Avenue and 3rd Street. New, not sure if they even have their signs up yet but the best quality sushi in Brooklyn. Not cheap, but good sushi usually isn't.

          1. If you're a BBQ fan, definitely check out Morgan's, on the corner of Flatbush and St. Marks. There's been some talk of it on this board. Also Marco's, the new place from the Franny's people. It's actually in the old Franny's space. I haven't been there yet but I've heard good things about it. They're both convenient to North Slope, so they're not out of your way.
