Midtown west suggestions

My husband and I are coming to NYC midweek. Staying near Carnegie hall.
Need suggestions for dinner Wed. within walking distance.
Pre-theater Thurs and Fri.
Like most cuisines--food more important than ambience--
Prices less than Per Se!
Thanks in advance.

  1. Price wise "less than per se" leaves every restaurant in the city except maybe Masa

The Modern is not too far
    Ma Peche

    In Time Warner Center:
    A Voce

    1. Wednesday:

thegforceny's suggestions are good, I'd also add Quality Meats or Quality Italian

See also Restaurants Near Carnegie Hall:

For pre-theatre on Thurs and Fri, it highly depends upon:
      - theatre location
      - price range per person, before tax, tip, wine/drinks
      - curtain time (7pm vs 8pm) as Thursday curtain is sometimes earlier than Friday curtain but not always

Dinner at Per Se costs $295pp (service included).

      What's your REAL budget?

Where to have dinner before a Broadway show:

        Thanks Kathryn.

Our budget is up to $75 pp ++

        Pre theater ideas for
Thurs 7:00 @ The Imperial Theater
45th bet Broadway and 8th av

Fri 8:00 @ The Schubert Theater
44th bet Broadway and 8th av

Thursday I would choose something pretty close to the theatre for a 5pm reservation. The 7pm curtains can be tough sometimes, you have a bit more wiggle room with the 8pm curtain. Some restaurants don't open until 5:30 for dinner.

      2. In addition to the other excellent recommendations, you should consider Betony on W. 57 St.

        1. Benoit
          Ippudo Westside
          Yakitori Totto
          Szechuan Gourmet
          Don Antonio

          1. Same question, but for May 2015

Where did you go on your last trip?
Did you see this thread from last month with the same question? Lots of great ideas here, and previous suggestions in this thread are all still valid....
              Any specific cuisine or cravings?
