  1. Depending on how much you are willing to pay for breakfast (more in the $15 to $25 per person range) I like the food at Pacific Dining Carhttp://www.pacificdiningcar.com/ at Princeton and Wilshire in Santa Monica. Open 24/7. Breakfast is also okay at either Norm's http://normsrestaurants.com/ (if you don't mind chain fare) on Pico Blvd. just east of Sepulveda a couple of blocks (also open 24/7) and at Izzy's Deli http://izzysdeli.net/ in Santa Monica (basically 15th St. and Wilshire) also open 24/7 - and will do in a pinch.

Also, depending on how far east you live in the WLA area there are also Canter's http://www.cantersdeli.com/ and Du-Par's http://www.du-pars.com/dupars_locatio... both very close to each other and both open 24/7 as well.

Other than those 24/7 places the earliest opening breakfast places are Pepy's Galley http://pepysgalley.com/ and Joni's http://www.joniscoffee.com/index.html in the Marina and they both open at 6AM.

    1. Not a breakfast place per se, but the Donut King on Pico and Lincoln in Santa Monica opens at 5:00 and serves up some nice breakfast sandwiches, especially the croissant ones. Coffee is decent as well. And it is a donut shop. I really like the chocolate chip bar. Also a decent fritter.

        1. On my way to work, I see Teddy's at Pico & Bundy [opens 5:30AM … and a new IHOP off Bundy and Santa Monica [24 hours].

          I've tried neither.

And, a place I've been many times, Western Bagel on Santa Monica around Barrington. Bagels and bagel sandwiches. Opens around 5AM. Check.
