"Natural" (the designation) is falling out of favor.

    1. It's been replaced by "Artisanal"

      1. If it's on the planet it's from nature and therefore is natural. The word never had any meaning, either real OR legal.

I think there's a difference between something that comes out of the back end of a factory and something that's picked in a field isn't there?

unless it emerges full-formed from a laboratory, it's natural.

I always stop people in their tracks (usually the guy at the mall peddling some miracle hand lotion) who tout stuff as all-natural when I say "y'know, poison ivy is all natural, too, but that doesn't mean I want to rub it on my skin"

            All natural doesn't mean it's tasty OR nutrishus (sic)....or harmless...or low-calorie...or low-fat...or low-salt....

            Yeah...means nothing, really.

kids at school say "pot is natural"
I am like ya.. so is Belladonna and Hemlock

              1. re: girloftheworld

Don't knock it till you tried it. Though I'd be careful with Belladonna. That'll royally screw with your mind.

                1. re: linguafood

Belladonna was used by women throughout history as a cosmetic - applied as eyedrops, it makes the pupils dilate, simulating sexual attraction.

(yes, I figure you already knew this)

I did. It's also a quite powerful hallucinogenic (not one I've tried, however). Not my cuppa '-D

                    1. re: linguafood

heyyy...a cosmetic that makes you LOOK like you're willing, and makes you think you are!

                      1. re: sunshine842

Unless it makes you think you are a willing *plant*, or about to self-dissolve :-D

That would make for some interesting sex....

                        1. re: linguafood

ya from tthe same generation that thought the radium girls were cool... wait are we talikng about the belladonna or the pot?

            2. re: hal2010

Yes, I was just trying to point out that the word is useless.
