Rue Cler recently posted on Facebook that they are eliminating retail bakery sales. Has anyone heard if Kevin Farmer will be making bread for sale elsewhere? The Rue Cler bakery was one of my couple of favorite artisanal bakeries here, and it certainly had the best quality-price ratio in the Triangle with those extra-long extra-flavorful baguettes at under two bucks for as long as I can remember, as well as my all-time favorite muffins. I will miss these.

  1. Do you know if this means they'll stop making their own bread/pastries too? Or will they keep making just enough for the restaurant? They have really great bread and it would be a shame if that disappeared.

    1. Awwww. :>(. I'm definitely enjoying Yellow Dog Bakery's (the long overdue artisan bakery for Raleigh) baguettes, but Rue Cler's still had the edge. I'll miss them.
