Belgian fry booth opening on Gerrard and Parliament

Drove by today. Sign looks new. Has a paper cone of fries with a Belgian flag/ribbon behind it. Name was something like Fri King.
on the northeast corner of Gerrard.
The front of the place? a giant, sliding metal security door. So no clue if it's a stand or a restaurant, if it's open, when it will be open.

strange location, but i always thought that, if opened in the right area, a Belgian fry stand in Toronto could make a killing (if they keep it true and simple, stick to the Belgian concept and don't try to make poutine, and cook the fries properly)

  1. poutine with hot mayo instead of gravy...fusion that should never happen.

Curry + mayo as a dipping sauce for fries. It's better than it sounds.

if it's not curry ketchup, you cannot call it Belgian :)

Oh, yes! It's curry ketchup. Mayo is separate. My husband has periodically lamented the fact that curry ketchup doesn't accompany fries here in Canada.

it can, if you buy it at McEwans.

Or make it yourself. Not all that hard.

Hey atomeyes, welcome back. You've been missed. Are you sure it's the northeast corner and not northwest where the Mr Sub used to be? Revamping the northeast corner would be quite an endeavour.

yeah. unsure how long i can stay. ya know, debating whether or not it's worth arguing things with people.

                anyways, positive of the location.

Simple solution: Don't. There are enough people here who know your taste. Your advice need only be given, not taken. Say what you say and leave it lay.

      2. I was stopped at that intersection this morning, and the storefront with the metal grate gives no indication that a restaurant is about to open behind it.

...except for the sign with the fries on it :)
