Does anyone know what happened to Tomas Ribeiro Dao?

Bivalve88 Nov 5, 2013 03:47 PM

I used to be able to get a delish Portuguese Dao from Tomas Ribeiro in my local store. They haven't carried it in a while and the clerk I spoke with doesn't know why. I haven't seen it anywhere else. Does anyone know if they're still making wine? It was my go-to bottle for a number of years and I've just finished off my last one...

Well, Tomas Ribeiro died in Lisbon in 1901, but since he wasn't making the wine -- it was merely named after him -- I don't think that's an issue. The wine itself is made by Caves Arcos do Rei.

Caves Arcos do Rei is imported into the US by Saraiva Enterprises in Massachusetts -- 508.992.3263, or e-mail info@saraivaenterprises.com.
