Tried. They only have the mezzanine for 30 people.

$125 midtown for private is low end, btw.

I know. That's why I'm asking here. I don't know what else to do. Called a bunch of places, no luck.

In candor, your budget is too low for a private room at any decent restaurant midtown, especially one that's suitable for a business dinner.

For something casual though, you might look into the chef's table at The Breslin.

I know, but I didn't set the budget. They ended up deciding on a private club. Whew.

        McCormick & Schmick's maybe?

They have a downstairs area that is private and essentially a "private room" of sorts.

I've been to a small private dinner at Pampano (49th near Third). Website shows: "COASTAL LATIN DINNER | 3 courses from $75 / guest | 4 courses from $85 / guest
Choice of appetizer, entree and dessert."

Also Brasserie 8-1/2 on 57th has a couple of small private rooms, but it's been a while since I have been there.

I've never paid at any, so I don't know how much they increase the prices for private dining, but I know Patroon has a number of small dining rooms and Pera has a small wine area that is set off but not fully private.

Either should be okay budget wise if the private dining costs are in line with the regular menu prices.

Have you looked at either A Voce or Landmarc in the Time Warner Center? I haven't hosted dinners there but have done cocktail receptions in private rooms at both.
