Crab feast (and pastry shops) recommendations?

Thank you so much chowhounders for your reviews and recommendations! I'm almost done figuring out my 2.5 eating days in Tokyo which include:

Sushi Sho
Sushi Taichi
Sushi no Midori
Ten-ichi (tempura)
Yakitori Hachibei

I have one more dinner slot and am wondering if I should go to a crab feast dinner. i'll be there early December so I'm not sure if it's a good time to have crab. I'm already going to get a Kaiseki meal at a Hakone ryokan, and did not want to waste a dinner slot on ramen or Tonkatsu (will see if I can fit them as mid-day "snacks"). Does anyone have any great recommendations for me for other meals uniquely Japan?

Also, I'm planning to visit Patisserie Sadaharu Aoki (love their eclairs!). Is there any other good pastry shops you can recommend?

Thank you so much!

  1. For crab feast dinner, you may want to check out Yukimura. Taizan crab should be in season during that period.

Agreed. Note the very high price though.

Just remember, Kadowaki is offering Matsuba crab feast this month. I will try it soon. But Kadowaki has always been good, with or without the crab, so you may want to look into that. I think the course is Yen 25k.

Thanks. I will look into this. Is it hard to get a reservation?
