Mugaritz - What's the reservation policy?

  • 5

The response I get seems to change every time I call them. I'm trying to get a Saturday night booking in May 2014 and have now had three different responses...

1) Reservations open on 1st November
2) Reservations open on 15th November
3) Reservations open two calendar months in advance

I'm eager to secure a reservation as we're travelling to Spain specifically for Mugaritz and already have flights, hotel and car hire booked in advance.

Also, how hard is it to secure a Saturday night booking in general?

Thanks for your help in advance! :-)

  1. Not sure about Saturday nights. I was just there for lunch on a Sunday and the room was not full. So I would assume that it's not that hard. Having said that, I was able to book mine months in advance unless they have changed their policy. Either way, I would still recommend you to go. It was one of the top restos I experienced while in Spain!

Just checked their website. Reservations for 2014 aren't open yet from the looks of things. I would probably try reserving around December before the Christmas holidays or the beginning of the new year. Your flight is still a months away so you should be able to get one once they open up their scheduling books.

    2. Hi Fitruss

I just booked on 11/11 on line at Mugritz for early May. Received a confirmation today

I think their web site just opened for 2014 on Monday

      Good luck

Yeah, however it looks like Saturday is not available so maybe they've changed the policy so that from next year you can only book Fri / Sat night tables up to two months in advance? (Either that or they're already fully booked!!!)

We are going Friday for lunch so that may be how the reservation was available. I prefer afternoons for lenghty tasting menus in lieu of getting out at 11:00 PM or later at dinner.
