looking for meat stuff...

Is there a place to buy blood for sausages? (don't worry, I am not a vampire) Also is there a restaurant with good blood sausage?

Paradise market in Hopkins has it. They get shipments from Chicago of all polish/Russian meats. Cabanos, kielbasa, etc....

    2. To make the sausage, I'd suggest contacting Clancy's, Everett's, Seward Co-op and/or Widmer's to see if they can procure some blood for you.

I am drawing a total blank on restaurants that serve blood sausage -- the only thing that comes to mind are places that serve black pudding as part of an Irish breakfast, which does not sound quite like what you had in mind.

      1. I think you're going to have to get in touch with a pork producer. The blood sausages that can be purchased in town are made with beef blood, but authentic pork sausage uses pork blood. If you are okay with beef blood, then probably Kramarczuk's.

I've had to buy pork blood sausage mail order from a place in Cleveland.

        1. I have seen pork blood frozen at United Noodle, otherwise not too sure. I know the usda isn't really keen on the smaller production facilities i.e. the ones that process high quality hogs keep the blood.

          1. I have bought both pork and beef blood from Shuang Hur, there and United Noodle will be your best bet. The other places mentioned aren't too likely, you need the right equipment to cool the blood pretty quickly after slaughter. If anyone is doing that locally Clancey's will likely know about it but don't get your hopes up.

Sorry, I don't remember and the container doesn't have a sticker. Probably around $4 though, comes in 10oz tub.
