Good Hush Puppies - Ashburn or nearby

Is there a place where I can get hush puppies in or nearby Ashburn?

  1. Have you tried Fords? I'm not a hushpuppy guy, but their other food is great.

Do they have hush puppies? I've been several times but have never seen (or maybe just noticed) them on the menu.

You may be correct. Like I said, I'm not a hush puppy fan anyway, and assumed they had them.

    2. Until December 21, the Reston Farmer's Market (Saturday's from 9-1 I believe) has Arnest Seafood with a truck serving fried oysters, fried fish, and hushpuppies. I tried the hushpuppies this past weekend and they were good. Maybe a tad sweet for me but still delicious!

I got some Arnest Seafood hushpuppies today. They were good. I agree that they were on the sweet side, but not so much that the sweetness was off putting. They were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, and not too dense (though I like them a little bit airier). They were also discernibly corn flavored rather than just doughy. It hit the spot for my craving. I liked the fried oysters, too. I'm glad I checked the place out. Thanks for the suggestion.

      2. AFAIK Ford's doesn't have hush puppies, though I do enjoy their food and that is my resto of choice for taking out of town guests for a fancy local dinner.

I will have to give the Reston Farmer's Market a try, @lovinglocalinReston. Thanks.

          1. Is The Cajun Experience in Leesburg still there? I remember getting some decent hush puppies there, but that was at least two years ago.
