Korean Fried Chicken update?

NYCnowLA Nov 4, 2013 12:44 PM

Is there a new reigning champ of KFC? Or is KyoChon still the best bet?

Kyochon is still the best bet if you want sauced korean chicken. For naked korean fried chicken (my preferred method), OB and Prince are both far superior for whole friend chicken. For just naked chicken wings, I think DSS is the best.

The Korean language boards are all lit up over Love Letter Chicken and Pizza. The pizza was a poor man's Mr. Pizza but the chicken was very good. Kind of a thick karaage crust. I think it has some atavistic childhood appeal for Koreans.

It's in the multi-level complex at Wilshire and Alexandria in the back on the first floor. Near the Bounty.

I thought it was good fried chicken but I'll still put my money on OB Bear for the best in town. By the by, Kyochon seems to be having some consistency problems in the last year.

Maybe their 2 month remodel will help address the consistency issue. Can't wait for Kyochon's reopening in K-Town on 2/4

"KFC" -- sorry that name belongs to the colonel!

            there's tungdalk, there's yangnyum tungdalk, there's buldalk.

i don't do KFtungdalk (OB, Prince), so right now, the clear champ is Kokio:

I tried Kokio last week and was a bit disappointed. It was moist and crispy, but a bit bland. Maybe the spicy is the way to go.
