Trying to find a lovely restaurant on the east side of town to take my 95+ year old grandmother for late lunch.

  1. I guess it depends on your definition of lovely.

Twin Cities Dining Guide has a list of restaurants open Thanksgiving.

It's not on the list, but Keys Cafe might be open (I know they do Thanksgiving catering to go and you can pick it up that day, but I'm not sure if the restaurant itself is open...however, I don't know if they are "lovely", just family cafe quaint at best).

    1. Lovely to me means good food.

Colossal Cafe in Saint Paul serves until 2pm. We had their traditional turkey dinner last year. It was some of the best turkey I've ever eaten.

It was so good that my dining companion got another dinner to take out, just to have leftovers of sorts.

      1. Lots of ethnic restaurants open their doors for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I had Thai and Chinese on both days last year.

        1. The St. Paul Hotel has a Thanksgiving dinner that I've heard is lovely, and I think would particularly suit a woman of advanced years.

          1. My mom and I were just taking about this today. Last year she went to Jax Cafe with my sister and brother. My brother loved the turkey dinner, my mother hated it and my sister had special food made (vegan) and thought it was okay. I looked at the menu and, frankly, I have better things to spend that kind of money on. Like rent.

We are going to the Monte Carlo for chicken wings.

Nicollet Island Inn has always been lovely when I used to go on Christmas.
