Druzian food

I saw a DDD on a restaurant that served food from the Druz community and was wondering if that cuisine existed in LA or the SFV.

  1. It may be the Carnival Restaurant in Sherman Oaks at 4356 Woodman Avenue. Sherman Oaks, CA 91423
    (818) 784-3469

It's billed as Middle Eastern and everyone eats there--very popular. I seem to recall that the owners were Druze.

    1. The family that owns Carnival is Lebanese. They might be Druze, but unlikely. The food is pretty generic Lebanese, imo.

If you want food from the area, though not specific to the Golan or Druze community, Niroj is Agoura Hills is the best spot. It is Iraqi Kurdish and incorporates food from the entire Levant.

      1. I spent a lot of time with the Druze in Israel. There is nothing distinctive about their cooking. It is the same cuisine as that of the surrounding Arab community - ie Lebanese or Palestinian.
