Nantucket Bay Scallops

CapeCodGuy Nov 2, 2013 07:23 PM

I saw on another board someone claiming retail prices, on island, of $14-$19.99 pound. Is this possible? Their season just started where the Cape Bays have been available since early October, but sell for around $28/lb. and higher. Ciclista.....you out there?

I paid $22 a pound wholesale 2 weeks ago, did a ceviche with them and they sold out. I have not seen them that cheap since the 90's.

On the Vineyard they are averaging in the mid $20's.

Sorry...I was on my way to Chatham. Ok, so, YES! They are $19.99/pound on island. I bought some opening day and they are amazing! Deeeeelish!

Lucky you! (Although they have dropped from an opening price of $28/lb. here to $24 or so.)
